I am going to one of those places in August of this year. I'm so indecisive I don't know what to do. Help?
Answer on Japan or Italy?
I've been to both and they are completely difference experiences so hard to give you an idea. Japan is an amazing county with so much technology but also some incredible history. The shrines are amazing and if you can get to some more remote areas rather than just Tokyo, Kobe and Kyoto you will improve your experience 100 times. Italy on the other hand - amazing architechture, culture, history, food, people etc. Will be very busy this year though with all the hype for Da Vinci Code and also with the World Cup on. There will just be so many more travellers. So, I guess I would recommend Japan for this year but make sure you get to Italy at some stage. It's not like this trip will be your last!!
